Vaastu Shastra : The Edifice Science of Bhawan Sthapatya Kala

Vaastu Shastra is the ancient science of living. The word Vaastu isn't identical to the word architecture. Architecture is the science, art or profession of designing and constructing buildings while Vaastu is architecture and much more than that. Vaastu Shastra, the edifice science of Bhawan Sthapatya Kala, means the science of building is based on the applied aspects of Atharva Veda.

Vaastu Shastra is an ancient science that is one of the important features of our Indian heritage. It is part of the Atharvaveda which is one of the 4 Vedas. The life of a human being is governed by many factors: his fate, karma, and surroundings but the right influence of Vaastu can make the sweet things sweeter and the bitter things less bitter. Suppose. If the construction of a building is not according to the principles of Vaastu Shastra then the thinking and action of the people staying or working in these places is not going to be peaceful and progressive. It can become the reason for disorder and illness. This is one of the main reasons for the unhappiness and suffering of society at present.

The soul of the house was called Vaastu Purusha and the different Cardinal directions which are East, West North, and South are assigned to different Gods like Brahma, Ishwar, Agni, Varun Yam, and demons because the waves streaming in a particular direction have a particular influence. North-east direction is controlled by God and therefore it is suitable for a prayer room. The South direction belongs to Agni and the central space belongs to Brahma; it should be left open to heaven. Also, the head and the limbs of the Vaastu Purusha should be left alone.

If the various activities in a house shop office or industry are directionally organized as for the principles of Vaastu Shastra then it means to draw the power from nature in a natural way and wants this immense force of almighty begins to support us then all our objectives are fulfilled in an easy spontaneous and effortless manner. The Vaastu Shastra is not only applied in houses but also in commercial buildings and industries where the clients' stakes are high.

For example, Vaastu Shastra assign the kitchen, chimneys, furnace, boiler, etc. to a particular corner on the basis of wind directions to stop the smoke and cooking fumes from flowing into the living or working area and affecting the health of the residents or workers. Thus, there is a great need for Architects and Vaastu engineers to coordinate because an architect can build a house but can't assure a happy life to the people who are living in that house whereas The Vaastu Shastra can assure peace, prosperity, and progress to the owner and also to their family members.

This happy admixture of ancient Heritage and modern Science can go a long way in revitalizing this edifice of science. Gradually the science is spreading fast all over India from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan to Uttar Pradesh. In a nutshell,  Vaastu Shastra Lays down the principles for the construction of houses, commercial buildings, industries, etc. which blend with the surroundings, nature, and the entire universe. Many rules are based on common sense as they relate to the ventilation and sunlight for someone like this subtle energy in nature that build the environment that affects humans.

We live on Earth which nourishes all human beings like mothers and is a treasure of all comfort and pleasure. All embarrassing motherly roles of the earth are best tapped by the use of the principles of Vaastu Shastra. In addition to karma in life, faith and Vaastu are the two things which affect the life of a person and each one is responsible for 50% of happiness in their life. If Vaastu is poor the result as compared to efforts will behalf even if the stars the exalted and the faith is very strong as a gangster if Vaastu is right and the planetary position is unfavorable then also the ill effects will not be so bad even when both are poor this means that if a house or industry is constructed according to Vaastu, men's destiny may be changed for the better.

Ganapati (Lord of Ganas) not Gajapati (Lord of Elephants)

Ganesh or Ganapati, we all know the story of Ganapati losing his head. When Shiva came to Manasarovar from a long journey and wished to see his wife and this boy tried to stop him, Shiva took off his head. Distressed Parvati asked Shiva to replace the head, he took off the head of some other creature and put it on the child. This other creature is described as an elephant. But we need to understand that no one called him Gajapati (Lord of Elephants). He is always called Ganapati (Lord of Ganas). But who are the Ganas? In the yogic lore, the Ganas are all Shiva’s companions. They were the ones who were always around Shiva. Though he had disciples, a wife, and many other admirers, his private company was always Ganas. Ganas are described as distorted, demented beings. It is said that they had limbs without bones coming out of odd parts of their bodies, so they are described as distorted and demented beings and were not like any human beings. It is said that these people spoke som...

Why Sanyasi (Monk) Wear Orange Colour?

From violet to red, From white to black, Hinduism attaches a spiritual meaning to almost every spectral color. But one color that is really associated with Hinduism is the orange or saffron color. Whether it is the orange flag adorning most temples in India or the bright orange color of fire in the Yagyas, orange color has a special significance in Hinduism. Even our monks or sanyasis wear orange robes because it represents fire and therefore purity; impurities are burned in the fire. But this wasn’t always the case. Earlier monks used to wear clothes, colored with the soil (red earth) found near the anthills which almost resemble the orange color. Because there was a tradition in India of going and meditating near anthills and by coloring your robes with that particular soil is to remind yourself that your physical self is just an outcrop of the land that you walk upon. Another aspect of wearing clothes that are washed in the soil is because it is the best way to make the...

Vanaras in Ramayana was in fact an Neanderthal men?

Vanaras are one of the most important characters in Ramayana. As described in Ramayana, Vanaras are special species that looked like monkeys. But Ramayana never mentions Vanaras as monkeys. These species were dominant in the southern part of India and rules South India including Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia Indonesia, etc. What does Vanara mean? Vanara is a Sanskrit word having two-part “Van” means “Forest” and “Nara” which means “Human” so the literal meaning is “humans who lived in the forest”. Vanaras were definitely not monkeys since the monkey is called Vankapi / Kapi or Markata in Sanskrit.  Why finding evidence of Neanderthal man is difficult in India? Archaeological and Scientific Revolutionary studies say Neanderthal was a species that inhabited Europe, Africa, and Western Asia starting some 2,30,000 years ago. Neanderthal man had hyoid bones , which enable them to speak and look like humans very closely. Though some evidence of Neanderthal man was found in I...
